Skills needed:

- FTP - File Transfer Protocol (included in Dreamweaver), there are also stand alone clients. You use this to send your files to the web. You also transfer software packages such as your blog or wiki. Those software packages come with instructions - settings, etc.
- HTML - Hypertext Markup Language - The programming language of the Internet.
- Fearlessness - The ability to realize that if you mess something up, you can fix it, or you can find someone who knows more than you do

- HTML w/ CSS - Cascading Style Sheets enhance web content
- Dreamweaver or other web creation program - To help make web sites for you
- Optional
- Flash - Animations, from simple to complex
- ASP, PHP, Javascript or other language - server side or client side scripting languages. Usually the software packages mean you don't have to know anything about the scripts to get them to work. If you want to make your own scripts then you do have to learn programming.
- Database management - usually managed by the software itself, only needed if you are writing your own scripts (password authentication, etc).
