Selecting a lens for a digital imaging system

In unit one, we selected an optimal size CCD (charged coupled device) sensor for our camera. Now we need to select a lens. Selecting a lens involves understanding a few principles of optics. First of all, real lenses are complex systems containing several lenses inside. The equations we will use, the thin lens equations, treat the system as one ideal lens. In the presentation, narrated by Dr. Thai, he will go through the step by step procedures using the proper equations to select a lens. After the presentation, there will be a brief summary of the important concepts, and then several practice problems.
